Will ‘Roger’ O’Dell, age 85, longtime resident of Leesburg, went to be with the Lord May 16, 2023, at Adena Greenfield Hospital with his family at his side.
Roger was born September 15, 1937, in Richmondale, to the late Donald and Dorothy (Murch) O’Dell.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jacklyn Hurst. The two were united in marriage on October 6, 1962.
Roger graduated from High School in Chillicothe and went on to serve in the Army for 10 years. He framed, managed State Parks and then started selling Military Surplus and did so for over 40 years, until the time of his death. Roger’s greatest joy was his six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Roger is survived by their sons: Jeff (Penny) O’Dell and Greg (Marla) O’Dell. Also left to cherish his memory are granddaughters: Paige (Codey) Juillerat, Jessi (Brad) Greene, and Dory O’Dell; grandsons: Coty (Amanda) O’Dell and Elijah O’Dell; and his great-grandchildren, his favorites: Alex Greene, Brady Greene, Shaelor Greene, Ollie Greene, Opal Greene, Olive Greene, Paisley Stahlhut, Kyndell Juillerat, Charlie O’Dell and Anna Kate O’Dell. Also surviving are his siblings: Donald (Marta) O’Dell, Darrell (Janet) O’Dell, and Marilyn Black; along with many nieces and nephews.
Roger was preceded in death by brothers: Charles O'Dell and Howard O'Dell; granddaughter, Mattie O'Dell; and great grandson, Lincoln Juillerat.
A graveside service will be held on the O’Dell Family Farm (12092 Monroe Road, Leesburg) on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at 5pm. Food and fellowship will follow the service at Jeff and Penny’s home. Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, has been entrusted with arrangements.
