William 'Bill' L. Taylor

William ‘Bill’ L. Taylor, age 83, of Sabina, passed peacefully at Copper Knoll in Washington Court House, on Monday, February 17, 2025.

Born on February 14, 1942, in Dayton, he was the son of William ‘Bud’ J. and Lucille (Combs) Taylor.

Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dianna R. Phillips Taylor in 2023.  The two shared 59 years of marriage, having wed on May 17, 1964.

Bill was a Marine Corp Veteran.  He had worked at AMF in Vandalia, and was a paramedic firefighter, then Battalion Fire Chief, of Miami Township Fire Department.  Bill worked for Preston Poultry in Sabina, Springfield Poultry and retired from Palm Harbor.

Spending time with his family was important to Bill.  He was well like by everyone he met and didn’t know a stranger!  Bill loved to gamble and going to casinos, fishing, his cats, drinking coffee and having cookouts.

Bill is survived by sons: William J. ‘Jeff’ Taylor II, Terry (Becky) Taylor and James (Mara) Taylor; and daughter Lori (Tom) Taylor.  Also left to cherish his memory are grandchildren: Katie (Chris McNeely) Neeley, and Jace and Jacob Taylor; great grandchildren: Logan, Bentley, Brandon Jr.; brother, Jim Taylor of Riverside, niece Robin Taylor Chinn, nephews Derek DeHaan and Bill Derbes, and good friends, Phyllis Kinnison and Carrie Wright.

In addition to his wife, Bill was preceded in death by his grandson, Brandon Holbrook; great-grandson, baby Lewis (Dooner) Holbrook; sisters: Judy Leyden and Linda Lindberg; niece Selinda DeHaan; great niece Heather Chinn; and longtime friend, Ted Wright.

Bill’s family is very appreciative of the staff, who became friends of his, at Copper Knoll in Washington Court House.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 1pm on Friday, February 28, 2025, at Sabina Cemetery.
