William H. Campbell, age 79, of Careytown, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 20, 2024.
Born in Wilmington on September 4, 1944, he was the son of the late William H. Sr. and Eleanor Price Campbell.
Bill is survived by his wife, Carolyn Strevel Campbell. The two were united in marriage on September 18, 1964, and would have celebrated their 60th anniversary next month.
After 41 years of service, Bill retired from The Irwin Company/American Tool in 2004 as a supervisor. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping for several years at Cave Lake. Bill loved to cut wood and was an avid wood worker.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by their children: Becky (Tim) Conner of New Vienna and Brian Todd (Kelly) Campbell of Midland. Also left to cherish his memory are grandchildren: Ashly (Sylas) Johnson, Cameron (Kaitlin Durbin) Conner, Mikaela (Karemiah Brooks) Campbell, Cassie (Dylan Kincer) Campbell, and Carleena Campbell; great grandchildren: Miranda Keith, Brooke Johnson, Emma Vanscoy, Colten Johnson, and Cayse Conner; siblings: Susie Teboe, Georgia Carnahan and John Campbell; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his grandson, Brent Vanscoy in 2015, and siblings: Betty Perry and Virgil Campbell.
Friends and family may call from 4-7pm on Monday, August 26, 2024, at Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina. Graveside services will take place at Mt. Auburn Cemetery, New Vienna, on Tuesday at 11am; a meal and time of fellowship will follow at the New Vienna Community Center.
