Viola V. Pratt, age 87, of Sabina, passed peacefully on Monday, March 6, 2017.
Born in Xenia on August 3, 1929, she was the daughter of Samson and Bertha Newland Hilderbrant.
Viola was a devoted homemaker and a member of the Sabina Church of Christ in Christian Union. She was involved in home missionary work with The Appalachian Project, and was a part of Inner-City Missions and community work her entire life.
Viola is survived by her children: Brenda Jo (Forrest, dec.) Michael of Sabina, Robert M. (Belinda) Pratt of Washington Court House, Connie (Maynard) Harris of Sabina, Dale Jean (Bryan) Mitchell of Woodstock, GA, Yolanda Robinson of Washington Court House, Regina (Charlie) Laufer of Blanchester, Denise (Gary) Mitchell of Cincinnati, Virginia (Dennis) Grove of Shippensburg, PA, Rebecca (Matt) Thompson of North Pole, AL, and Melissa (Richard) Hannah of Sabina. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and sisters, Elizabeth Jean Hamilton and Judy (Roy) Pence.
Viola is preceded in death by her former husband, Robert Dale Pratt; children, Diana Brooks and Douglas Pratt; infant siblings, Dorothy and Edgar Hilderbrant; siblings Buck Woodruff, Catherine Anders, Kenneth Hilderbrant, and Joanne Ellenberger.
Family will receive friends at Littleton Funeral Home on Sunday, March 12, 2017 from 2-5pm. Funeral services will be held at 10am on Monday, March 13, 2017 at the Sabina Church of Christ in Christian Union. Burial to follow at Sabina Cemetery.
