Vernon L. Farquer, age 79, of New Vienna, passed on Saturday, November 02, 2019.
Born on Mach 20, 1940, he was the son of the late Jack and Mary Kaufman Farquer, Sr.
He leaves behind his wife, Pamela Sturgeon Farquer. The two were united in marriage on November 28, 1980.
Vern was a 1958 graduate of Martinsville School. He retired from the Air Force and Civil Service, after 29 years. Following retirement, Vern worked for 12 years at Bob and Carls. A member of the Wilmington Church of Nazarene, he loved fishing, garage sales, being a greeter at church and riding the church bus.
In addition to his wife, Vern is survived by his brother, Jack, and his wife, Kay. Also left to cherish his memory are children: Vernon Jr., Russell, and Tina; several grandchildren; and brother in-law, Wayne Mitchell.
Vern was preceded in death by his step mother, Alice; sister, Barb Mitchell; daughter, Lynn MacKenzie; step-son, Adam Sturgeon; and nephew, Loy Farquer.
Memorial contributions would be welcomed to the funeral home, to aide in final expenses.
Family will receive friends at the Wilmington Church of Nazarene on Wednesday, November 6, 2019, from 10-12 Noon, when a funeral service will begin, officiated by Pastor Rod Walley. Burial to follow at Martinsville IOOF Cemetery. Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, has been entrusted with arrangements.
