Vanilla Huff Stritenberger, age 86, of Washington Court House, went to her eternal Home, surrounded by her family on Wednesday, June 30, 2021.
Born in Pippa Passes, Kentucky on October 11, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Dorothy Slone Huff.
Vanilla was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Stritenberger, on January 29, 2010. The two were united in marriage on October 17, 1953.
Vanilla previously worked at J.C. Penny and Steens. She retired from private in-home healthcare. Vanilla served at the clothing center at Heritage Church and really enjoyed her time there. She attended the Grace Community Church in Washington Court House.
Vanilla’s vibrant smile and personality would light up any room. She loved to talk about her love for Jesus to others, whenever given the opportunity. She loved listening to music, especially when it involved her family. The love she had for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was evident. Being the third-oldest in her family, her love for her brothers and sister was demonstrated at a very young age. Her responsibilities in helping with the care of her siblings cultivated that love.
She is survived by children: Lisa (Rod) West of Washington Court House, Teresa (Woody) Seyfang of Leesburg, and Brian (Doris) Stritenberger of Wilmington. Also left to cherish her memory are grandchildren: Derek (Heather) Seyfang, Beth (Mike) Campbell, Andrea West, Heath (Shauna) West, Brock (Lacey) West, Kayli (Jonathan) Johnson and Heather (Bradey) Jobson; greatgrandchildren: Gabe, Coby, Kenzie, Emma, Elijah, Addison, Hannah, Reilly, Anna Grace, Evie, Ezra, Ada Pearl, Emery, Alexa, Chloe, Owen and Isla; sister, Faye (Norman) Wiget; brothers: Bill (Bonnie), Raymond, Carl (Carol) Keith, John (Judy), Stanley, and Wayne (Elma) Huff; sisters in-law: Marjorie, Sue and Betty Huff; and many more special friends and family members.
In addition to her husband, Vanilla was preceded in death by siblings: Frank, Cluitt, Zeak and David; sisters in-law, Ruthanna, Jenny, Thursa, Janet , Connie and Betty Huff.
Family will receive friends on Monday, July 5, 2021, at Grace Community Church in Washington Court House, from 11am until 1pm, with the service beginning at 1pm. Burial will follow on Tuesday, at 11am at Bloomingburg Cemetery. A special thank you to Hospice for their loving care. Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, has been entrusted with arrangements.
