Wilmington

Stanley Wayne Blackburn, 65, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away on November 26, 2024, following his journey/battle with Posterior Cortical Atrophy (PCA).

Born on March 21, 1959, in Dayton, Ohio, Stanley was the beloved son of Hollie B. Hall and Stanley E. Blackburn.

A 1977 graduate of East Clinton High School, Stanley went on to build a successful career with Airborne Express, later DHL, where he worked as a Logistics Network Controller for 40 years. His dedication and work ethic left a lasting impact on his colleagues and friends.

On June 1, 1985, Stanley married the love of his life, Julie Durbin. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and love, raising three sons: Bill, Brad, and Matt. Stanley took immense pride in his role as a devoted father and an even greater joy in being "Grandpa" to his four grandsons—Preston, Beckett, Hudson, and Jett—and his step-grandson, Grayson. His boys were his greatest source of pride, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

Stanley is survived by his loving wife Julie; sons Bill (Michelle), Brad (Emily), and Matt (Danielle); his sisters Connie Spitzley and Wanda (Roger) Camp; and many extended family members and dear friends.

Stanley's generous spirit, keen sense of humor, and steadfast dedication to his loved ones will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of Stanley's life will be a casual opportunity for friends and family to come together, share memories, tell stories and celebrate the joy and laughter Stan brought to our lives. We will be looking forward to celebrating his remarkable life with you at The Elks #797 in Wilmington, Ohio, Thursday December 5th, 2024, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.  In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Heartland Hospice of Washington Court House or The Guiding Grayson's Fight against CLN3 Batten Disease, a cause close to Stanley's heart.

Stanley Wayne Blackburn will be forever remembered for the love he gave and the legacy he leaves behind.
