Shirley J. (Cassidy) Smith

Shirley J. Smith, age 85, of Washington Court House, formerly of Sabina, passed peacefully on Tuesday, October 25, 2022.

Born in Pike County on April 28, 1937, she was the daughter of Ernest A. and Bertha Cook Cassidy.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 64 years, William ‘Bill’ Smith.  The two were united in marriage on May 3, 1958.

Shirley was a graduate of Simon Kenton.  She went on to work for Melvin Liquid Fertilizer, for Ed Kuehn at Sabina Farmers Exchange, and finished her working years in retail.

In addition to her husband, Shirley is survived by their children: Brian Smith of Fairborn and Lynn Michelle Fesler of Hilliard.  Also left to cherish her memory are grandchildren: Angela (Billy) Harchick, Breanna (Robert) Holt and Jessica Nelson; and great-grandchild, Cameron.

Shirley was preceded in death by an infant sister and the remainder of her siblings: Norma, Eleanor, Hobert, Allen ‘Connie’, Gerald and Charles Cassidy.

A public graveside service will be on Monday October 31, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at the Centerville Cemetery. Lees Creek.
