Sandra L. (Aldridge) Arnold

Sandra L. Arnold, age 84, formerly of Sabina, passed peacefully in Lebanon on Saturday, February 10, 2024.

Born on July 13, 1939, in Springfield, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Grace Heath Aldridge.

Sandy was a Springfield South graduate.  She was the first female letter carrier for the Sabina Post Office and went on to become the Post Master of Port William, from which she retired in 2002.  Sandy was a member of the Wilmington Elks and the first female member of the Port William Lion's Club.

After being raised in the city, Sandy married and moved to Sabina, where she enjoyed life on the family farm.  She was no stranger to helping where needed - driving the tractor and tending to animals, Sandy embraced life on the farm and was proud to be raising her children there.  She loved all animals and loved to travel, dance, paint, draw, cook, read, walk, spend time outside in the sun and even attended yoga and pilates into her late 70s.  As a Grammy of three, she always enjoyed attending her grandkids' activities. Sandy had a great sense of humor and was exceptionally proud of her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed!

Left to cherish her memory is her son and daughter in-law, Brian and Lorrie Arnold of Sabina; daughter and son in-law, Deanne and Dale Whalen of Morrow; cherished grandchildren: Justin, Dylan and Emily Arnold; along with numerous friends and extended family.

Sandy was preceded in death by her oldest child, Jeffrey Arnold, who passed tragically in 1990.

Memorial contributions would be appreciated to the Sabina Library or Queen City Hospice.

Family will receive friends, at Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, on Friday, February 16, 2024, from 2pm – 3:30pm, when a funeral service will begin.  Burial to follow at Sabina Cemetery.
