Ronald R. Kell

May 11, 1954 — March 1, 2017

On March 1, 2017, Ronald R. Kell was ushered away with love and laughter to be with our Lord and Savior, surrounded by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He is survived by his high school sweetheart and homecoming date wife Barbara J Kell (Zurface) of 44 years, his children Angela and John Dailey, Josh and Amanda Kell, Billy Kell (close nephew), his grandchildren Michael Dailey, Morgan Ritz (Jon), Cora Kell (Hunter), Matthew Dailey, Mackenzie Dailey, Curtis Kell and Carmen Kell, his great grandchildren Rubie, Peyton and Chloee Dailey.  He is also survived by siblings Donna Gastiger (Arley), Wilma Cessna, Jackie Parker (Rufus), Antoinette Fields (Neal) and William Kell (Judie).  He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews too numerous to name.

He was preceded by parents William (Bill) and Thelma Kell, sister Della Smith, nephew Michael Gastiger, great nephew William “Bill Bill” Kell and a great grand baby “jellybean”.

Ron was born in Athens, Ohio, May 11, 1954.  He graduated from Greeneview High School in 1972, Wilmington College with Bachelors of Science, 1984 and University of Dayton, Masters Science Education and Allied Professions, 2004.  He spent 33 years teaching.  He was most fulfilled teaching at Montgomery County ESC, special needs students for 30 years.  He most especially enjoyed educating his students on the Constitution, their rights and responsibilities as citizens of the US.  He was an Air Force Veteran who loved his country and proudly served.  He also served his home congregation at Jamestown Church of Christ as deacon and fulfilled other leadership roles as a member.  He belonged to Greene County Fish and Game and was an outdoor skills instructor for Coonskin Cap Brigade.  He most loved spending time outdoors and with his family and friends.

Memorial donations are suggested to Jamestown Families Cancer Care (PO Box 35, Jamestown, OH 45335)

Family will receive friends at Jamestown Church of Christ on Friday, March 3, 2017 from 5-8pm.  Funeral services will be held at the church on Saturday at 9:30am. Burial will follow at Silvercreek Cemetery.
