Roland "J.R." Richardson, 89, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully the afternoon of July 23, 2017 at home.
He was born December, 24 1927 to Barney and Veleda Richardson.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Wilmington. J.R. was an avid golfer and Reds fan, and he loved his family and friends dearly.
He is survived by his wife, Mary "Johnnie" Richardson, to whom he was married 62 years; a son, Jeff (Mindy) Richardson of Mt. Juliet, TN; a son, Jim Richardson of Strongsville; and a daughter Jill (Jeff) Browne of Marietta, GA. Also surviving are grandchildren Bonnie (Doug) Sager of Madison, TN; Blake Richardson of Madison, AL; Amanda Richardson of Chicago, IL; Eric Richardson of Cleveland; Kate and Connor Browne of Marietta, GA; great-grandchildren Alan, Katie, and Gracie Sager of Madison, TN; a brother John (Fran) Richardson of Bowersville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Charles. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 27 at the Presbyterian Church of Wilmington, 840 Timber Glen Drive. The family will welcome guests beginning at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Debbie Linville will preside. Light refreshments will be served following the service and burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery, Bowersville.
