Roger D Brown

Roger Dean Brown, age 84, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday June 5, 2021.

He was born November 6, 1936 in Martinsville to the late Wiley and Blanche Davis Brown.  He graduated from Martinsville High School in 1956.

He was married August 29, 1958 to the late Evelyn Ray Saunders Brown, to whom he was faithfully married 60 years.

Roger retired from the Clinton County Highway Dept. in 1998 where he was employed for 26 years in maintenance.

He was a member of the New Antioch Church of Christ and a former member of the Clinton County Power Club and loved restoring antique engines.  He could always be found in the garage helping friends and neighbors fixing things and always stopped to help strangers stranded by the roadside.

He enjoyed camping, bicycling and traveling with family and friends, especially throughout the western USA.

He is survived by a daughter, Dayle Brown of Wilmington, two grandsons; Capt. Aaron (Elise) Peercy (USAF) of Altus OK and Christopher Peercy of Aurora, CO.  Two great granddaughters; Hannah and Ellen Peercy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his wife Evelyn, a daughter Rachel Peercy, two sisters and one brother.

Visitation will be on Saturday June 12, 2021 from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. with the funeral service following at 11:00 at the New Antioch Church of Christ with Sid Clay officiating.  Burial will be in the Martinsville IOOF cemetery.  A light luncheon will follow the graveside service at the New Antioch Church fellowship hall for friends and family.
