Robert F. Mckee

Robert F. McKee, age 88, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, September 28, 2019.

Born in Clinton County on June 25, 1931, he was the son of the late William Robert and Thelma Baber McKee.

Robert, widely known as "Bob or Bobby", was an antique collector who loved to show his latest investment. He enjoyed hunting and fishing as taught to him by his dad. Growing up on a farm, he found pleasure in the great outdoors.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three of his children, daughters Brenda Mercer, Tonya Sanderson and son, Robert McKee as well as his beloved sister, Marilyn Clark.

He is survived by ten children, his four remaining biological children from his union with wife, Evelyn McKee and six step-children from his union with Barbara Sexton. He also leaves behind his best friend and brother, William Dale McKee, along with a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Family will receive friends at Bible Missionary Baptist Church, Pastor Kurtis Summerville, 243 Grant St, Wilmington, on Saturday, October 5, 2019, from noon until 1pm, with the funeral service to begin promptly at 1pm. There will be no graveside committal and a repast will be held at BMBC immediately following service.
