Robert L. Adams

Robert Adams, age 85, of Sabina, passed peacefully at home on Saturday, March 27, 2021, just six days shy of his 86th birthday.

Born in West Union on April 2, 1935, he was the son of the late Ray C. and Lillie Mae Adams.

Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jane Harris Adams, on February 1, 2021.  After 59 years of marriage, Bob was ready to join his best friend in Heaven for eternity.

A 1953 New Vienna graduate, Bob served in the United States Army and the National Guard, until he was honorably discharged in 1963.  In 1960, he became a member of the Leesburg Pilgrim Holiness Church, where he held a position on the Board of Lay Leaders, as vice chairman for over 40 years.  During those years, Bob taught Sunday School for adults and junior boys and girls and assisted with Vacation Bible School.

Bob worked for Wilmington Casting Co. for 12 years and retired from MAC Tool in 2003, after 40 years of service.  While raising his sons in Sabina, Bob was a Cub Scout Master for 3 years and coached t-ball and little league baseball for 6 years.

Robert is survived by his sons and their wives: Jerry and Deanna Adams, of Beavercreek, and Mike and Shawna Adams, of Washington Court House.  Also left to cherish his memory are grandchildren: Mitchell (Kelsey) Adams, Kalina (John) Campbell, and Hannah (Jonathan) Morgan; great-grandchildren: Gwenivere Adams, Elsie Campbell, and Baby Adley Mae Morgan, on the way; brothers: Maurice Adams and Victor (Susan) Adams; sisters in-law: Goldie Adams, Rose Adams, Donna Adams, Naomi Adams; special niece, Barbara (Jim) Colthar; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, Robert is preceded in death by siblings: Richard, Raven, Faye, Neil, Loman ‘Gene’, and Bernice Adams.

Memorial contributions would be appreciated to the Leesburg Wesleyan Church (contribution address: 11713 St. Rt. 171, Leesburg, 45135).

Family will receive friends at the Leesburg Wesleyan Church (225 W. Main, Leesburg) on Friday, April 2, 2021, from 10-12Noon, when a funeral service will begin.  Burial to follow at Sabina Cemetery.  Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, has been entrusted with arrangements.
