Richard Valentine “Dick” Wilson, 81, of Fostoria, passed away 4:41 am on Monday, September 26, 2016 at ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital. He was born January 24, 1935 in Sabina, Ohio to the late Harold V. and Dorothy Alice (Collett) Wilson. He married Elaine Geary on October 21, 1956 at the Sabina Methodist Church, Sabina, and she precedes him in death. Left to cherish Dick’s memory are his son, David (Regina) Wilson, of Norwalk, OH; daughter, Robyn (Boyce) McConnell, of Fostoria; five grandchildren, Rachel & Michelle Wilson, Kyle McConnell & Candy (Stuart) O’Quin, and Millie (Mike) Kuyken; and eight great-grandchildren, Hunter, Shantel, and Major Stram, Berlynn, Meghan, and Matthew Kuyken, AmirJackson, and Madeline McConnell. Dick was formerly a Personal Loan Officer, and Vice President for 5th Third Bank in Fostoria, where he began in 1963 and retired in 1998. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, Findlay, a member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Toledo, the Masonic Lodge, Bucyrus, and the Zenobia Shrine Club, Fostoria, where he was a Past President. He was also a former member of the Kiwanis and Rotary Clubs in Fostoria and served on many Boards. An Avid sports enthusiast, Dick enjoyed high school softball, basketball and golf. He had been a Cincinnati Reds fan since the age of 5. He also enjoyed his collection of Emmit Kelly Clowns. Visitation will be held from11 am – 1 pm on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at MANN-HARE-HOENING Funeral Home, 407 N. Countyline St., Fostoria. Funeral services will begin on Wednesday at 1 pm in the funeral home, Pastor Kevin Rusk, presiding. Burial will follow in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.
