Richard “Dick” A. Thomas, 85, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2017, in Dayton, Ohio.

He was born on December 12, 1931, in Sioux City, Iowa, to the late Bert E. and Ardathe Liebig Thomas.

He is survived by his wife, Connie Moore; two children, Jay Thomas and Joyce Thomas; and five grandchildren.

Dick graduated from the University of Iowa and served in the Air Force.  He worked as an electrical engineer with DESC.  He was a member of the Masons.

Dick and Connie were married on March 30, 1979 and pursued their passion for music throughout their 38 years together.  They enjoyed Square Dancing and Ballroom Dancing, and were in several bands including the Kettering Civic Band, Dayton Letter Carrier Band, Windjammers, Circus Band, and Shriners.  They traveled to many countries and across the United States, always with their trumpets so they could perform with other members of the group.

His funeral service will be held on Saturday November 18, 2017, at 2:00 p.m at the Morris Sons Funeral Home 1171 E. Dorothy Lane.  Kettering, OH 45429

Graveside services will be held at Highland Cemetery, Highland, Ohio (time and date pending).   .
