Richard E. Davis, age 83, of Sabina, passed away at home, surrounded by his family, on Sunday evening, May 22, 2022.
Born April 27, 1939, in Wilmington, the son of Virgil E. and Doris Earley Davis.
He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Sharon Hartley Davis. The two were united in marriage on June 9, 1961.
Richard was a 1957 graduate of Simon Kenton High School. He went on to serve in the US Air Force, for 6 years, after school. Richard co-owned a trucking company with his father, helped his family with The Davis Greenhouse, and retired after 26 years with Melvin Stone. He was a HUGE Ford guy, loved his classics, and event built a new garage just to house his precious Thunderbirds. A member of Richland United Methodist Church, Richard was also a member of the Sabina Area Men’s Group.
In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by daughters: Kim (Larry) Chance of Sabina and Amy (Tim) Houseman of Clarksville. Also left to cherish his memory are grandchildren: Chelsie (Tim) Mallow, Nikk (Kaley) Mallow, Wesley Wright, Katlin Chance (Josh) Fox, Austin Chance, Andrew Houseman and Allie (Seth) Houseman; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by daughter Juli Mallow, who passed on April 22, 2011, along with his sister and her husband, Marie and Maynard Beam.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of Fayette County and Richland United Methodist Church.
Family will receive friends on Thursday May 26, 2022, at Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at 1:00 P.M. Burial will follow at Sabina Cemetery.
