Rev. Victor G. Adams, age 69, of Leesburg, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 29, 2021.
Born in New Vienna on August 27, 1952, the son of Ray Charles and Lillie Mae Adams.
Vic is survived by his wife of 49 years, Susan Barrett Adams. The two were united in marriage on February 25, 1972.
A 1970 graduate of Fairfield High School, Vic worked at Irwin for 32 years. He enjoyed working there with his brother and his coworkers became family to him.
Vic served the Lord since 1978, in that time he touched many lives. He never knew a stranger! With that being said, he would always say “The purpose of this life is to prepare you for the next.” He’d leave special messages on Facebook to bring others to Christ. Vic was truly a Man of God and wanted everyone to know how to make Heaven their home for eternity. Throughout the years, Vic married many friends and family and would always say “I can hook you up in 5 minutes.” With all his wedding money, Vic loved to go to Goodwill and the thrift store to find new treasures that he was always so proud of.
Vic’s entire life was family. He was always there for his kids and grandchildren, making it to soccer games and band concerts. He was so very proud of all of them. Vic loved to watch his Cleveland Browns and passed on the love to his daughter and granddaughter. His love of Andy Griffith, along with his famous beloved black Ford Ranger will be passed down to his grandson, who will cruise around town listening to ZZ Top, in honor of his grandfather. Vic loved his dogs: Lilly “wolf dog”, Izzy, Diesel, and his newest puppy, Tinky, who brought him happiness the last few weeks.
In addition to his wife, Vic is survived by a daughter, Crystal, and her husband, Eddie Hawn; granddaughter, Kaylee Hawn; grandson, Noah Hawn; brother, Maurice Adams; sisters in-law: Goldie, Donna, Rose and Naomi Adams; brother in-law, John (Margaret) Barrett; specials sons: John Bales and Chris Bales; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and his favorite mechanic, Lester.
Vic was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Tony Adams; one unborn child; brothers: Loman ‘Gene’, Neil, Raven, Robert, Faye, and Richard Adams; sister, Bernice; sisters in-law, Jane and Ginney Adams; great-nephew, Dean; in-laws, John and Eileen Barrett; and nephew, Lloyd Adams.
Family will receive friends on at Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, on Friday, September 3, 2021, from 11-1pm, when a funeral service will begin. Tim Case and Roger Newkirk will officiate the service. In honoring Vic’s request, please join the family in a procession to Leesburg, Vic in his Ford Ranger with ‘Sharp Dressed Man’ playing, ending at the Fire House, where a meal and fellowship will continue.
