Raelena Mae Shumaker, 77, of Muncie, IN, entered the gates of Heaven Thursday, January 23, 2020, at IU Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.
She was born on February 21, 1942, in Cincinnati, a daughter of Raymond and Dora Plummer, step-daughter of Fay Woodruff.
She was part of the David Adair furniture family for 30 years. After retirement, she spent all her leisure time with her high school sweetheart, Howard Shumaker, and their sheltie, Molly Mae. After they entered the gates, she moved to Muncie with her daughter, Natalie, and granddaughter, Lily. When she was wasn’t in the kitchen cooking, she was involved in the day to day activities, such as dog sitting, wedding planning and shopping.
Surviving are her daughter, Natalie Shumaker Corcoran of Muncie, IN; one granddaughter, Lily Corcoran; one grandson in-law, Andrew Ferguson; one son, Nickolas Shumaker; two granddaughters, Madison and Mallory; one step-grandson, Matthew Corcoran; two sisters, Dorena Deck of Wilmington and Facena Milburn of Sabina; and one brother, Clyde Woodruff of Ravana, OH.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2020, at Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, from 11am – 2pm, when a funeral service will follow. Burial at New Antioch Cemetery.
