Phillip D. Tidd

Phillip Dennis Tidd, age 78, of Jamestown, passed peacefully at Hospice of Dayton on Wednesday, February 16, 2022.

Born in Jamestown on March 20, 1943, he was the son of the Dennis and Eileen Huston Tidd.

Phil is survived by his wife of nearly 58 years, Peggy Flaugher Tidd.  The two were united in marriage on August 15, 1964.

Phil graduated from Greenview High School in 1961.  He graduated from Dayton Barber College and barbered with his best friend, Marion Dean.  Phil retired from American Buildings in Jamestown.

He enjoyed model railroading and was a member of the The Grand Strand Model Railroad Club in Myrle Beach, where Phil and Peggy spent a lot of time.  The couple enjoyed traveling after retirement.

Phil was a member of the Grape Grove Church of Christ and participated in the Praise Band.

In addition to Phil’s wife, he is survived by a brother, Tony Tidd, and his wife Shelley; nieces Erin (Brent) Sholler and Jennifer (Chad) Adams; nephew Braden (Jodi) Tidd; great nieces Brylie Sholler and Megan Adams; great nephew Brody Sholler; along with many other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Phil was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Eileen Tidd.

A private memorial service will take place at the convenience of the family.
