Patricia 'Pat' A. (Crothers) Lewis

Patricia ‘Pat’ A. Lewis, age 92, of Jeffersonville, passed away on March 8, 2025, at Soin Medical Center.

She was born on March 18, 1933, in Adams County to the late of Charles and Rosabelle Johnson Crothers.

Pat was a graduate of Wilmington High School, earned her teaching degree at Central State University, and later earned her masters degree.  She taught 7th and 8th grades for 27 years at Greenview School in Jamestown.

Pat loved to travel.  She was a member of Eastern Star and Jeffersonville Church of Christ.  Pat was an avid bowler, often bowling on three teams at a time.  An outstanding seamstress, she made many wedding dresses over the years, including both of her daughters in-law dresses.

She loved spending time and going on “adventures” with her grandchildren, Chris, Holly, and Lilly Lewis.  When Pat moved to Jeffersonville in 1967, she formed a lasting friendship with Ann Lee Detty and Mabel Watson.  Friends and family referred to them as the “Golden Girls”.  Pat often said she was so blessed with a wonderful and amazing life.  She visited so many states with family and friends.  She was the last remaining “Golden Girl”.

In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Lewis; son, Timothy William Lewis; sisters: Dena Graham and Linda Arrington; brothers: Bob Crothers and Dallas Crothers.

She is survived by her son and daughter in-law, Patrick ‘Rick’ and Lynn Lewis; daughter in-law, Jackie Lewis; brother in-law, Wayne (Dorothy) Lewis; sister in-law, Eileen Beckett and her sisters, Lana Smart and Phyllis Austin.  Also left to cherish her memory are grandchildren: Chris (Kristen) Lewis, Holly Lewis and Lilly Lewis; great-grandchildren: Ivy Lewis, Skylar (Alexis) Maag and Ethan (Amanda) Maag; and great great-grandchildren: Hadleigh Maag, Kohen, Asher, and Greyson Rhoden, and baby boy Maag, due in August; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

As per Pat’s wishes, she was cremated and there will be no funeral.

Later, at the convenience of the family, there will be a Celebration of Life held, so family and friends can share their funny Pat stories.
