Nichols 'Nick' Estell

Nichols ‘Nick’ Estell, age 85, passed peacefully at his Sabina home on Sunday, March 23, 2025.

Born on September 26, 1939, in Hamilton County, the son of the late John William and Ruth Nichols Estell.

Nick is survived by his wife of nearly 64 years, Rita Georges Estell.  The two were united in marriage on July 1, 1961.

After graduation from Adams High School, Nick served in the United States Navy. and retired from Cincinnati Milacron/UNOVA.

He enjoyed bowling with several leagues, playing softball at the Sabina Park, and coaching Little League.  Nick was a member of St. Columbkille Catholic Church in Wilmington.  He was a former member of Knights of Columbus, served on the Church Council Board and the Sabina Pool Board.

In addition to his wife, Nick is survived by their children: Alicia (Forest) Goings of Wilmington, Laura (Troy) Lynch of Clarksville, Nick (Donna) Estell of Reynoldsburg, Greg (Pam) Estell of Blacklick and Tim (Melissa) of Mason.  Also left to cherish his memory are grandchildren: Alex (Jamie) Estell, Sarah (Quinten) Badger, Stephanie (Nick Clayton) Estell, Nicole (JP Gipson) Estell, Rachel (Dylan) Rose, Matthew (Meg Hoffman) Estell, Molly (Ryan Thompson) Lynch, Conner (Chandlyr) Estell, Allyson (Logan Woodall) Estell, Megan Estell; and 8 great-grandchildren.

Nick was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings: William, Margaret Ellen, Joe, Tom, Verna Jean, Ruth Ann, and Larry.

Memorial contributions would be appreciated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or St. Columbkille Catholic Church.

Family will receive friends at Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, from 5-7pm.  A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30am on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at St. Columbkille Catholic Church, Wilmington.  Burial to follow at Sabina Cemetery.
