Nicholas "Nick" W Vandervort

Nicholas W. “Nick” Vandervort, 89 of Sabina, passed away on Wednesday May 19, 2021 at The Ohio State University Medical Center.

Born February 5, 1932, in Clinton County, he was the son of Nicholas W. and Mary Jones Vandervort.

He is survived by his wife Virginia Gaskins Hock Vandervort.

Nick was a Veteran of the United States Navy.  He had been a manager for Sohigro in Melvin and retired as an Agronomist. A member of the Sabina Friends Meeting, he enjoyed reading and woodworking, but his passion was restoring his collection of Massie Harris tractors.

In addition to his wife, Nick is also survived by his sons: Michael (Kelly) Vandervort and Nick (Edna) Vandervort. Also left to cherish his memory are grandchildren: Chanda Haines, Neil, Gretchen and Zackery Vandervort; great granddaughter, Lelia; siblings: Judith Wilson, Nancy Kelly, Delia Stowers, Martha Vandervort and Nathan Vandervort.

Nick was preceded by his first wife, Phillis; son Mark, and siblings; David Vandervort, Bruce Vandervort and Beverly Roush.

A public graveside service will be held on Wednesday May 26. 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at the Springfield Friends Cemetery, 121 Todds Fork Rd. Wilmington, under the direction of Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina.
