Mary A. (Morris) Summers

Mary A. Summers, age 85, of Wilmington, passed away unexpectedly at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati on Tuesday, August 31, 2021.

Born in Washington Court House on April 16, 1936, she was the daughter of the late George, Sr. and Gertrude McCoy Morris.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin D. ‘Ducky’ Summers in 2008.

A 1954 Washington High School graduate, Mary went on to work as a clerk for Washington Court House Trucking and Braddock Motor Freight and retired from Sewell Trucking in Wilmington, after 30 years.  She enjoyed reading, working puzzles and playing cards.

Mary is survived by her brothers Charley (Dean) Morris of Good Hope and Robert (Joanne) Morris, Sr. of Leesburg.  Also left to cherish her memory are her numerous, loving, and kind nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her siblings: an infant sister, Dolly, Lottie Belle Williamson, George Morris, Jr. and his wife, Carol, along with her special beloved niece, Kathleen Morris Duffy.

A public graveside service will take place at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Leesburg, on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 11am.  Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, has been entrusted with arrangements.
