Marjorie Ann (Bloom) Manson

January 1, 1934 — December 4, 2021

Marjorie Ann Manson, age 87, passed peacefully at Sycamore Glen Assisted Living in Dayton, Ohio on Saturday, December 4, 2021. She was also under the loving care of Day City Hospice. Born on January 1, 1934, in Clinton County, she was the daughter of the late Clement and Dorothy Bayless Bloom. Marge attended Kingman School and was a 1951 graduate of Wilmington High School. She went on to work at the Clinton County Air Force Base, managing the exchange, and with her husband Jim, was the owner of the Sears Catalog Store in Georgetown. Marge was a member of the Elks Lodge in Lebanon, the American Legion Auxiliary in Wilmington, and the Red Hat Society. She attended the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, in Wilmington. Marge had a love for antiques and old houses and had the knack for restoring them into beautiful items. She loved to cook and bake. Marge enjoyed helping other people in their time of need. Left to cherish her memory are sons: Leonard (Marilyn) Beverley of Michigan, Curtis (Sandra) Dawley of Wilmington and Craig (Trieva) Dawley of Blanchester; grandchildren: Len (Kelley) Beverley Jr., Sarah (Mike Pyle) Dawley, Zachary (Katy) Dawley; and several greatgrandchildren. Surviving sister Ruth Ester Compton of South Daytona, Florida, and brother Donald (Lynna) Bloom of Aurora Missouri, and their numerous children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. Of special note is lifelong friend Paul Figgins of Dayton Ohio. Paul and Marge's families grew up together from childhood, and sister Jean was related in marriage. After the passing of Marge's husband Jim, Marge and Paul continued their friendship. As Marge transitioned into assisted living, and up to the day of her passing, Paul selflessly gave of his time and resources to visit Marge, take her out to eat, provide those items that she was no longer able to obtain on her own, and to just be her friend. The family expresses heartfelt thanks to Paul. Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, James P. Manson, who passed in 1999 and a sister, Dorothy Jean (Phil, brother-in-law) Figgins, Rachel Figgins, niece and Walter Compton, brother-in-law. A private graveside committal, at Sabina Cemetery, will be held at the convenience of the family. Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, has been entrusted with arrangements.
