Loren "Poncho" W. Wise

Loren W. “Poncho” Wise, age 80, of Jamestown, passed away on Thursday morning, December 15, 2022.

Born January 14, 1942 in Bowersville, the son of Gerald and Ruth Forta Wise.

He is survived by his wife Barbara West Wise.

A graduate of Jeffersonville High School and post-graduation law enforcement schooling, he had retired from the Greene County Sherriff’s Dept, after many years. Always one to stay busy, he had worked at the Morris Bean Company in his early years and then after retirement from the Sheriffs Dept. he mowed many yards in the Jamestown area and always enjoyed helping the Kirk Family during harvest.

In addition to his wife, Loren is also survived by his daughter Rececca (Joe) Forysthe and son Steven Wise.  Also left to cherish his memory are stepchildren Missy (Rob) Frost and Scott Overturf of Jamestown; siblings: Pat Sexton of Washington Court House and Charlie (Mary) Wise of Hillsboro; grandchildren: Libby and Kalei Forysthe, Sabrina Overturf, Tye Frost, Hannah and Lacy Hayslip and Julia Abbott; also a greatgrandchild, Carter Abbott.

Visitation will be on Tuesday December 20, 2022, at the Jamestown Church of Christ from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. with a funeral service, at the church, on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be in the Silvercreek Cemetery. Littleton Funeral Home Sabina is assisting the family.
