Lillie M. Rhoades, age 91, passed peacefully on Thursday, November 17, 2016.
Born May 24, 1925 in Clinton County, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Martha (Marshall) Brown.
Lillie was a graduate of Wilmington High School, held various factory positions, worked as an apartment manager and was a freelance photographer. She was a member of the Sabina Church of Christ and Sabina Seniors. She enjoyed traveling, reading, gardening and crochet.
Lillie is preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Rhoades, whom she married April 29, 1944.
She is survived by her children: Donna (Ed) Stephenson of Reeseville, Jeanette Soale of Wilmington, and James (Jacqueline) Rhoades of Gilbert, AZ. Also left to cherish Lillie’s memory are grandchildren: Deanna Stephenson, Gene (Dionne) Stephenson, Casey Soale and Robin Soale; great grandchildren: Patricia and Eric Stephenson; sisters, Madeline Campbell and Maxine (Hugh) Fenner; brother, Raymond Brown; sisters in-law: Charlotte Rhoades and Renea Donihue; along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Lillie is also preceded by a son, William A. Rhoades; son in-law, Bob Soale; granddaughter, Crystal Soale; and siblings, Mary Magdalene and Merl Brown.
Family will receive friends on Monday, November 21, 2016 from 12-1:30pm at the Sabina Church of Christ. Funeral services will begin at 1:30pm, with burial to follow at Sabina Cemetery.
