Kenneth N. Joy

Kenneth Joy, age 63, of New Vienna passed away at his home on Monday, October 10, 2022.

Ken was born October 5, 1959, to John P. and Marthajane Joy, who preceded him in death.  Ken was a graduate of East Clinton High School and after graduation he joined the New Vienna Life Squad and was employed at Wells Manufacturing and Buckeye Molding Company, both in New Vienna.

In August of 1986 Ken enlisted in the United States Navy and after completing basic training at Great Lakes and additional training at Camp Pendleton, Ken was assigned as a Hospital Corpsman to the Naval Hospital in Pensacola, Florida.  His last duty assignment was to a Marine Division at Camp Lejeune, NC.  Prior to his discharge, Ken served aboard the USS Manitowoc during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.  During his service, Ken was awarded a Good Conduct Award, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, and a Southwest Asia Service Medal.  Most of Ken’s employment after his service in the Navy was the many years, he enjoyed working at Uhl’s IGA in Sabina.  Prior to his passing, Ken was employed by Cox Industries in Wilmington.

Ken is survived by his brothers John (Carol) Joy of New Vienna and Jim (Laura) Joy of Batavia, as well as an aunt, Janet Danziger of Silver Spring, Maryland.    Also left with his memory are 5 nephews- J. R., Matthew, Tim (Nicole) all of Cincinnati; Grant of Shawnee, Ohio; Justin (Kortnie) of Cincinnati; and one niece, Sarah, also of Cincinnati.  Surviving cousins include Doug Grim of Portland, Oregon; Bruce Grim of Wenatchee, Washington; Mark Danziger of Grand Cayman, and Diane Martin of Virginia.

Family will receive friends at Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, on Saturday, November 5, 2022, from 11-12pm.  A graveside inurnment will take place at 12:30pm at New Antioch Cemetery.  Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, has been entrusted with arrangements.
