Joyce L. (Morgan) Murphy

Joyce L. Murphy, age 88, of Wilmington, passed away on Thursday evening, September 30, 2021.

Born in Dearborn Michigan on January 7, 1933, the daughter of James and Fay Martin Morgan.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Roger C. Murphy on February 20, 2008.

Joyce began her career as a telephone operator in Detroit and then while working at Litt’s she found the opportunity to work as an operator in Wilmington. She then went on to work in customer service at the Sears Catalogue store in Wilmington where she retired. She loved to play bridge and was very passionate about the game, she also enjoyed her cats.

Joyce is survived by her children: Pam (Chet) Adkins and Kyle (Shari) Murphy, all of Wilmington, and Kevin (Mary Robinson) Murphy of Beavercreek. Left to cherish her memory are grandchildren:  Ashley (Josh) Cooper, Chris (Sara) Huddleston, Eric Adkins, Clint (Laura) Adkins, Josh “Eddie” (Ashton) Adkins, Emily, Tyler, Daniel, Ben, Jack and Katie Murphy; 17 great grandchildren; siblings: Frances Taylor, Ilene Wegehaupt and Dan Morgan.

Joyce was preceded in death by a son, Neil; a grandson, Campbell Murphy and siblings: Juanita, James and John Morgan.

A private funeral service will be held on Wednesday October 6, 2021 at the Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, with burial to follow at Miller Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Roger Murphy Scholarship Fund c/o the Clinton County Foundation (PO Box 831, Wilmington, Ohio 45177) with Peoples Bank.
