Josephine (Harris) Drake

Josephine Drake, age 99, of Wilmington, passed peacefully on Friday, December 22, 2023, at Wilmington Nursing and Rehab.

Born on June 16, 1924, in Clinton County, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Lydia Alice Powell Harris.

Josephine was a 1942 graduate of New Vienna High School.  She went on to work as an inspector in quality control at Ledex.  Josephine was an avid reader and was a member of the Church of Christ in New Vienna.

She is survived by her daughter and son in-law, Lynne and Ron Spaeth of New Vienna and stepson, Roger (Barb) Drake.  Also left to cherish her memory are granddaughters: Suzanne (Rhett) Bellamy, Kelly (Jimmy) Mann, Elizabeth (Jim) Tissott, and Pam Jacobs; grandsons: Brian (Renae) Corzatt, Travis (Karla) Corzatt; step-grandson, John (Anita) Cooper; great-grandchildren: Nate, Noah (Kylee), Josephine (Anthony), Kittrick, Kambrie, Tasha (Michael), Sammy,  Alana (Alec), Nick (Shannon), Nate (Rebekah) and Christopher; step-great granddaughters, Ciaira and Grace (Sam).  And numerous great great grandchildren.

Josephine was preceded in death by her first husband, Glen Pierson, Jr.; second husband, George Drake; stepdaughter, Judy Corzatt, sons in-law, Larry Corzatt and Larry Cooper; siblings: Cleo (Donald) Linkhart, Goldie (Dana) Storer, Donald Harris, Virgil (Frances) Harris and great grandson, Ashton Adams.

A Celebration of her life will be held Saturday June 22, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at the New Vienna Church of Christ.  A fellowship luncheon will follow at the church for everyone, Littleton Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
