Joseph A. Plato

Joseph Alexander Plato, age 89, of Sabina, passed peacefully March 14, 2024, at home.

He was born October 24, 1934.  His early life was spent in the Elyria, Ohio area before relocating to Clinton County.

Joe served in the United States Air Force and retired from Airborne Express.

He is survived by his second wife, Marilyn Plato and her children: Gary Michael, Janelle Mullins, and Scott Michael.  Also left to cherish his memory are grandchildren: Anthony Mullins, Hannah Davis, Benjamin Benner, Missy Benner, Jeremy Benner and his granddaughter, who he was in instrumental in raising, Kimberly (Arthur) Pauley and great grandchildren: Lileigh and Otto; along with a host of nieces and nephews in the Elyria area.

Joe was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara (nee Zgoda); his parents, Felix and Antonette (nee Kaszubinski) Plato; brothers: Leo, Stan and Carl; sisters: Joan Marozsan, Dorothy Thomson, Toni Harrell; and stepchildren: Pamela Stewart and Wayne Michael.

In keeping with Joe’s wishes, a memorial service and internment will be announced at a later time.  Joe believed strongly in his Catholic Faith; please consider contributing to your local Parish in his memory.
