Jonathan “Jake” Ellis, age 22, of Wilmington, passed unexpectedly on Friday, February 26, 2016.
Born on June 30, 1993 the son of Rick Ellis of Jamestown and Michelle “Mickey” (Harold) Matthews of Coshocton, Jake was a 2012 graduate of Riverview High School. He was active and successful in FA, 4-H, and open hog shows. He enjoyed bowling, playing corn hole, and was an avid sports fan. Jake’s favorites included the Cleveland Cavs, Cincinnati Reds, and Michigan football. Currently a senior at Wilmington College, Jake worked at Cherrybend Pheasant Farm as a farm worker.
In addition to his parents, Jake is survived by his siblings, Michael Ellis and Madison Matthews; maternal grandparents, Jean and Mike Mason of Wilmington; along with several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Ralph and Mildred Ellis.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 2, from 12-2 pm, when a funeral will take place at Littleton Funeral Home in Sabina.
