John P. Black, age 70, of Sabina, and formerly of Wilmington, passed on Thursday, August 26, 2021, after years of declining health.
Born on July 4, 1951, he was the son of the late James and Evelyn Gaston Black.
John was a Wilmington High School graduate and served in the United States Army. He worked, as a machinist, for over 20 years, before retiring from Addison McKee in Lebanon. John loved riding his Harley and was a member of the VFW, American Legion and the Eagles, all in Wilmington.
John is survived by his daughter, Jonda, and her husband, Chris Rolfe, of Sabina. Also left to cherish his memory are grandchildren: Michael Withrow, Haleigh Lombardo, Kirstin (Jeremy Stich) Lombardo, Savanna (Brandon Williams) Rolfe, and Taylor (Levi) Fortnor; great-grandchildren: Raiden, Ciella, Willow, Lucia, Adeline, and two more on the way; along with brother, Ed (Cindy) Black; brother in-law Pat Albrecht; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Teri and Tim Tamplin.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Albrecht.
Family will receive friends for a memorial gathering on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, from 3-5pm at Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina. Burial, at Sugar Grove Cemetery, will be held at the convenience of the family.
