Jeffrey L. Prater

Jeffrey L. Prater, age 62, of Jeffersonville, passed peacefully on Wednesday, May 20, 2020.

Born in Washington Court House on February 18, 1958, he was the son of the late Lucine and Elsie Williams Prater.

A 1976 graduate of Miami Trace, Jeff retired, after almost 30 years, from the Village of Jeffersonville.  He loved bowling, traveling, especially to Tennessee, and family cook outs.  After retirement, Jeff continued his daily ‘ride around’ Jeffersonville.  He could be seen ‘checking things out’ and always met others with a friendly wave.  Jeff was happiest spending time with his cherished friends and family.

He is survived by two sisters: Nancy (Danny) Hines, of Washington Court House, and Patty (David Porter) Young, of Jeffersonville.  Also left to cherish his memory are nieces and nephews: Brittany (Steve) Fannin, Kasey (David) Stolzenburg, Nikki (Bryan) Riley, Amber Young, Robbie Davis, and Mercedes (Johnny) Hayslip; several great-nieces and nephews; numerous special friends, including, Diane Ringer and Lila Lawell; and his treasured dog, Buster.

In addition to his parents, Jeff was preceded in death by his beloved sister, Cindy Prater Davis, and a niece, Tiffany Young.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to the funeral home to help with final expenses.

A graveside service, at Milledgeville-Plymouth Cemetery, will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2020, at 11:30am.  Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, has been entrusted with arrangements.
