James R. “Jim” Burns, age 79, of New Vienna, passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at the Adena Medical Center.
Born May 22, 1942, in Highland County, the son of Charles Herbert and Myrtle Storer Burns.
He was preceded by his wife Ruth Burns in 2011 and is survived by his first wife, Linda Reed Burns.
Jim is survived by children: Chrystal (Ray) Mullenix of Hillsboro, Diannia (Ralph) South of Detroit, Debbie Hennies of Florence, KY, Jeannie (Tom) Aston of Independence, KY, Kellie (Jason, dec) Baker of Washington C.H., William (Cindy) Baker of Sidney and Brian (Kathy) Baker of Pride, LA. Also left to cherish his memory are grandchildren: Dylan (Erin) and Austin Mullenix, Adam (Kayla) Baker, Brandon (Reagan) Baker, Brittany and Taylor Aston, Brad Kimball, Michelle Hennies, Travis (Maddie) Baker, Savannah and Jami (Laura) South, Cody (Allie) Baker Jordan and Justin Baker and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Jim is also survived by siblings: Shirley Main, Linda (Steve) Burney, Russell (Loretta) Burns, Bob, Kenny, Gary and Roger (Kim) Burns; brother-in-law, Whitey Maher.
He was preceded in death by siblings: Ruth, Charles and David Burns, Virginia Tuck and Mildred Maher; sisters in law; Beverly and Phyllis Burns and brother in laws, Ronald Main.
Jim was an avid supporter of the Stroh’s Beer Brewing Company and whenever he was going out traveling, he loved to say, “I’m going buzzing”.
Visitation will be on Friday December 31 from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at Noon, at the Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina.
Burial will be in the Sabina Cemetery,
