James E. Thompson

James E. Thompson, age 82, of Leesburg, passed peacefully on Sunday, July 23, 2023.

Born in Fayette County on September 6, 1940, he was the son of the late Floyd R. and Hester Mae Harris Thompson.

Jim is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Patty Frye Thompson.

He worked as a Line Service Lead Tech at Airborne Express, sold cars for Ron Farmer in Washington Court House, and Snow Motors in Sabina.  Jim was a program director at the former Colony Theater.  He enjoyed singing and recording country music and found great joy in sharing his work.

In addition to his wife, Jim leaves behind one son, Kirk, two daughters: Kimberly and Kelly Jo; several grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.  Also left to cherish his memory are siblings: Edna Cowman, Betty Huff, and Robert Thompson.

He was preceded in death by sisters: Tillie Dunn, Ruby Parrett, Minnie Stevens, and Donna Martindale; and brothers: Vernon, Glenn, and John Thompson.

A visitation will be held at Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, from 11am – 1pm, on Thursday, July 27, 2023.  A graveside service will take place at 1:30pm at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Leesburg.
