“Jake” David M. Stirr, age 67, died peacefully at home December 16, 2016 surrounded by his wife, kids and grandkids. Born February 20, 1949 the son of David O. and Katherine Lemmings Stirr. He is survived by his wife Becky Burson Stirr whom he married June 15, 1968. Jake was a heavy equipment operator at Melvin Stone for 34 years and was a member of the Gathering Place Church. He is also survived by his children David I. (Michelle) Stirr and Stephanie (Randy) Ater all of Washington C.H., siblings Irvin “Ted” (Donna) Stirr and Pam Pendleton. The joys of his life, his grandkids Joshua Stirr, Brandyn (Ciarah ) Ellison and Gabriella Ater and great grandson Brantley Joseph Ellison. Also several nieces and nephews including two great nephews whom he thought as his grandchildren Jaxon and Jacoby Blair and an Aunt Teresa Lemmings. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Yvonne Preston and Sisters Debbie and April. Family will receive friends at Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina on Wednesday December 21, from 4 to 8 PM. Funeral will be held at 11AM Thursday December 22, 2016 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Milledgeville Plymouth cemetery. The family would like to thank Vitas and Amity Healthcare for their wonderful care of Jake. He was loved by many and will be missed by many.
