Jacklyn Marie (Hurst) O'Dell

Jacklyn Marie O’Dell, age 81, of Leesburg, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 17, 2025, at home, with her family by her side.

Born in Chillicothe on October 27, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Maynard Warner and Phyllis Marie ‘Edinger’ Hurst.

Jacky was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roger O’Dell, on May 16, 2023.

She was a Catholic Central High School graduate.  Jacky went on to work for Community Action in Hillsboro and the County Extension office.  She was instrumental in helping her husband on their farm, and together, they owned and operated R and J Army Navy, selling military surplus.

Jacky was a longtime faithful member of the Leesburg Church of Christ.  She was an avid collector of collections, enjoyed gardening and flowers, loved jokes, and was happiest when surrounded by her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons: Jeff (Penny) O’Dell and Greg (Marla) O’Dell.  Also left to cherish her memory are granddaughters: Paige (Codey) Juillerat, Jessi (Brad) Greene, and Dory O’Dell; grandsons: Coty (Amanda) O’Dell and Elijah (fiancé Christianna) O’Dell; and her great-grandchildren: Alex Greene, Brady Greene, Shaelor Greene, Ollie Greene, Opal Greene, Olive Greene, Paisley Stahlhut, Kyndell Juillerat, Charlie O’Dell and Anna Kate O’Dell; along with her sister and best friend, Rebecca ‘Becky Jo’ Purpero.

In addition to her husband, Jacky was preceded in death by granddaughter, Mattie O'Dell; great grandson, Lincoln Juillerat; brother, Jerry Hurst; and sister, Beverly Hurst.

The O’Dell family will receive friends at the Leesburg Church of Christ on Friday, February 21, 2025, from 11am until 1pm, when a service will begin.  Burial will be held privately at a later date.
