Harold A. Tuvell

January 11, 1933 — November 13, 2021

Wilmington

Harold A. Tuvell, age 88, of Wilmington, OH, and formerly of New Carlisle, OH, passed away peacefully into his Heavenly home on Saturday, November 13, 2021.

Born in New Carlisle on January 11, 1933, he was the son of the late Charles “Walter” and Clara (Strome) Tuvell.

He is survived by his devoted wife, of 59 years, Ella M. (Hoskins) Tuvell.

Harold was a 1951 Graduate of New Carlisle High School and went on to further his education at Bowling Green State University, and received his Master’s Degree from Southwest State University in Oklahoma. A Veteran of the U.S. Navy, from 1951-1959; serving during the Korean War and stationed in Panama.  He was proud to have served his Country.

Harold was a math teacher at Studebaker Junior High School, Huber Heights, Ohio and after retiring from teaching in 1985 went on to become a Vice President and Cost Estimator for the B.F.G. Company and specialized in building McDonald’s restaurants.

He was an active member of the Wilmington Church of God and was always willing to use his gifts to help with any project the church was doing. Not only was he a talented craftsman, but many considered him the sharpest dressed man in church.

Harold enjoyed his children and was especially fond of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He loved supporting them by attending all of their sporting events; thus spending a great deal of time in the bleachers. Harold was an avid fisherman and had plenty of fish tales to tell.   He was a part of the Honor Flight in October 2016 and counted that as one of his greatest memories. The highlight of the trip came while he was visiting the Korean War Memorial, when a young Korean boy approached him, and thanked him for his service.

In addition to his wife, Harold is survived by their beloved daughters: Sheri Stephens and Andrea (Bill) Davis; Grandchildren: Jennifer Martin, Kyle (Tyne) Davis, and Chad Davis; great-grandchildren McKenna Martin and Kam Davis, all of Wilmington. He is also survived by his sister; Nancy (Audley) Woody of Huber Heights, OH, brothers; Jerry (Mary) Tuvell of The Villages, Florida, and Bill (Linda) Tuvell of Las Vegas, NV.
