George Trickey, age 90, of Wilmington, passed peacefully on Friday, January 3, 2025, at Miami Valley Hospital.
Born on February 15, 1934, in Missoula, Montana, he was the son of the late George and Eva Trickey.
A Veteran of the United States Navy, George went to further his education and worked as a professor of math and was a software engineer. He was an extremely avid walker and loved training and spending time with his beloved dogs. George enjoyed traveling – taking his children and grandchildren on adventures, gaming on his computer, working puzzles and lots of shopping on Amazon.
George was preceded in death by his first wife, Darlene Jorgenson Trickey, his second wife, Dorothy Stoops Trickey, and his son, Jon Trickey.
He is survived by his son, Ralph (Kathy) Trickey of Colorado; along with children: devoted caregiver Angela Zurface, Beverly (Rod) Tudor and Jerry Coffman. Also left to cherish his memory are grandchildren: Rachel Moyer, Michelle Trickey, James (Jackie) Stewart, Chelsi (Jeremy) Gilbert, Chris (Betsy) Stewart, Amanda Tudor, Ashley Tudor, Amber Tudor, Javree Coffman and Blake Coffman; along with a host of great-grandchildren, including special caregivers: Jaidan, Isaac and Maleah Gilbert; and a sister, Mary Bair of California.
A memorial service will be held at Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 12pm. Friends may call from 11am until the time of the service.
