Floyd 'Boonie' Newman

Floyd ‘Boonie’ Newman, age 52, of Hillsboro passed away at Christ Hospial on Thursday morning, June 30, 2022.

Born in Dearborn, Michigan, on December 18, 1969, he was the son Beverly Ross Sheeley of New Vienna and the late Floyd ‘Flick’ W. Newman.

Boonie was a 1989 East Clinton High School Graduate.  He retired from the City of Wilmington, Department of Sanitation.  He was a member of the Eagles in Greenfield.  Boonie enjoyed hunting and fishing; he also loved farming and livestock.

In addition to his mother, Boonie is survived by children: Brent Newman, Tyler Cloud, Seth (Mallory) Helterbran and Sara Helterbran and beloved grandchildren: Weston and Maverick.  Also left to cherish his memory are siblings: Becky Newman, Carol (Kevin Dawson) Knisley, and Sug (Jackie) Sheeley; nieces and nephews: Shyanne Pryor, Eddie Vinup, Ryan Vinup, Brittany Vinup, Kacee Dawson, Alexis Newman, and Makalee Sheeley; along with several cousins and a host of close friends.

Boonie was preceded in death by his father and his son, Brandon Newman, and a sister Teresa Vinup Harrison..

Those wishing to make memorial contributions may do so to the East Clinton FFA.

Friends may call on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, from 9am – 12pm, when a funeral service will begin, at Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina.  Burial will follow at Sabina Cemetery.
