Doug ‘CD’ Beckett, age 61, of Clarksville, passed peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 27, 2021.
Born in Wilmington on September 23, 1960, the son of the late Charles W. and Bernadine Hackney Beckett.
Doug is survived by his wife of nearly 42 years, Patty Bevan Beckett. The two were united in marriage on December 2, 1979. Together, they built a life and had three children.
A 1978 Clinton Massie graduate, Doug worked at Airborne for 27 years. He was a farmer and a trucker, and owned CDB Trucking. Doug loved cattle, anything John Deere, and spending time with his beloved children, grandchildren, and family. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Wilmington.
In addition to his wife, Doug is survived by their children: Bridget (Cody) Burlile of Wilmington, Tiffany (Brandon) Strong and Justin (Elisha) Beckett, all of Clarksville. Also left to cherish his memory are grandchildren: Jace Fallis, Brooklynn Beckett, Cole Fallis, Baylee Beckett, Ava Strong, Bryston Burlile, Camden Burlile, Brayden Beckett, and Ashtyn Burlile; sisters: Cindy Beckett of Wilmington and Debbie (Chuck) Gillen of West Chester; brother, Dean (Sharon) Beckett of Wilmington; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Allie Strong.
Memorial contributions would be appreciated to Bible Baptist Church of Wilmington and Hospice of Dayton.
Family will receive friends from 4-8pm at Bible Baptist Church in Wilmington on Friday, October 29, 2021. A funeral service, at the church, will take place on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at 2:30pm. Burial to follow at Springfield Friends Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Littleton Funeral Home.
