Dorothy Jean Pope, age 87, of New Vienna, passed peacefully on Friday evening, January 13, 2017. Born on January 19, 1929, she was the daughter of Ralph and Mary Marguerite McFarland Hewitt. Dorothy is preceded by her husband, Richard A. Pope, whom she married on November 9, 1947. Dorothy was a Reeseville High School graduate. She worked as an assembler at Wells Manufacturing for a number of years; enjoyed couples bowling and was a member of the Sabina Gold Wing Road Riders Club. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Dixie Walker; grandchildren: Dade Walker, Christopher (Rachel) Walker, Mike Pope, Dawn (Jeremy) Adams. Also left to cherish her memory are great-grandchildren: Emma, Dakota, and D’Artagnon Walker, Adian Graham, Logan Pope and Kelsey Adams; along with her brother, Max (Bess) Hewitt and daughter in law Jan Pope. Along with her husband, Dorothy is preceded by her son, Larry Alan Pope and granddaughter, Stacy Pope. Family will receive friends at Littleton Funeral Home on Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 1:30-3pm, when a funeral service will begin. Burial will follow at Sabina Cemetery.
