Donald E. Vance

Donald E. Vance, age 80, of Leesburg, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at Miami Valley Hospital.

Born at home, in Wilmington, on February 5, 1940, Don was the only child of Delbert E. and Helen Marie Chambliss Vance.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Connie Craft Vance, who passed in 2015.  The two had been married for nearly 55 years at the time of her passing.

Don was a graduate of Sabina High School.  He was a lifelong farmer, he also was retired from Pac National, where he was a supervisor.  Don was passionate about farming, woodworking and could often be found ‘supervising’ in the garden.  He enjoyed the company of his animals, watching Sunday NASCAR races and the Grand Ole Opry.  Above all else, Don took great pride in taking care of his family.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Cathy (Tony) Arnold of Leesburg; daughters in-law: Linda Vance of Washington CH and Tracy Vance of Sabina; grandchildren: Carly and Lauren Arnold, Bethanie Vance and Josh Vance; along with special friends, Dave Anders and Scott Shaffer.

In addition to his wife, Don was preceded in death by two sons: Duane Vance and Dale Vance.

Family will receive friends at Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, on Saturday, February 6, 2021, from 11-12Noon, when a funeral service will begin.  Burial to follow at Sabina Cemetery.
