Donald A. Jackson, 79, of Sabina passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Lees Creek, Ohio on March 19, 1936 to William Arthur and Evelyn Markley Jackson. He graduated from Wilmington High School in 1954. He served in the US Navy from 1954 to 1958 and served in the Reserves until 1982. He retired from General Motors. He was a member of the Sabina Masonic Lodge 324 and the Bible Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Stewart Jackson, whom he married on November 24, 1957. Also surviving are his children Shari Gregory of Sabina and Craig (Terence) Jackson of Hong Kong; grandchildren, Ryan (Ashley) Gregory, Doug (Ali) Jackson, Sarah (Christopher) Stapleton, Hannah (Phil) Brister and Timothy Jackson; seven great grandchildren; his sister, Janet (John) Ford; sister and brother in laws Shirley Tagg, Bill (Linda) Stewart, Ron (Karen) Stewart and Kay Stewart; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Douglas; infant son, Timothy; his grandson, Chad Gregory; his parents; his mother and father-in-law, Floyd and Ruth Stewart; and his sister and brother in law, Pat and Chuck Westfall.
His funeral service will be held on Monday at 10 am at the Littleton Funeral Home in Sabina with burial in the Sabina Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 4 until 6 pm at the funeral home; with a Masonic service at 6 pm.
Memorial contributions may be made to Community Care Hospice or the Bible Baptist Church.
