Darnella (Reed) Haines

Darnella Reed Haines, age 96, of Sabina, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 21, 2018.

Born in Dublin, TX on December 2, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Jim and Eula (Brown) Reed.

Darnella was a graduate of Dublin Texas High School.  She was a ‘Rosie the Riveter’, during WWII, on B-36 bomber, and later, worked at Allied Tech.  Darnella was a long-time member of the Sabina Church of Christ.  She loved spending time with her family and painting.

Darnella is survived by her sons: David (Marge) Haines of Franklin, TN, and Dennis (Joetta) Haines of Sabina.  Also left to cherish her memory are grandchildren: Jeff (Kim) Haines of Leesburg, Stefanie (Steven McFadden) Haines of Sabina, Abigail Haines and Valerie Haines of Nashville, TN, Renee Cowan of Van Wert, OH, Randy Haines of Sierra Vista, AZ and Samantha Haines of Antwerp, Belgium; 15 great-grandchildren; and sisters in-law: Mary Lou Haines and Melba Reed.

In addition to her parents, Darnella is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Roy E. Haines.  The two were married January 2, 1944.

Also preceding is a son, Larry Lee Haines; grandson, Doug Haines; sister, Virginia Starnes; and brothers: Herbert, Hershel, Hubert, and Horace Dale Reed.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Sabina Church of Christ.

A graveside service will be held at Sabina Cemetery on Friday, May 25, 2018, at 12Noon.  Littleton Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
