Darlene (Howard) Hottinger

Darlene Hottinger, age 69, of Martinsville, passed unexpectedly at home on Friday, August 2, 2024.

Born on May 27, 1955, in Portsmouth, she was the daughter of the late Harris and Mary Irene (Fitch) Howard.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, John Hottinger.  The two were united in marriage on September 14, 1974.

Following graduation from Portsmouth West High School, Darlene worked at Airborne and retired from Dianon Systems, as a laboratory technician.  She loved plants and flowers and enjoyed sewing and crocheting.  Darlene attended the Wilmington Church of God for many years.  She always put others before her and adored her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Darlene is survived by their son, Zackery Hottinger; grandchildren: Haley, Wyatt, Kyland, and Jazylynn; great grandson, Korbin; siblings: Eddie, Mike, Tim, Gene, Theresa, and David; along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Darlene was preceded in death by her daughter, Toree Taynille Hottinger and siblings: Sue, Janice, Chuck, Loretta and Luke.

Visitation will be held at Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, from 10 am until the time of funeral service at 12 noon.  Burial will follow at Sabina Cemetery.
