Clara "Cj" Jean (Oney) Linkhart-Carolus

Clara Jean "C.J." Linkhart Carolus of New Vienna passed away peacefully at her home on December 25, 2022. She was born September 9, 1929 in Carter City, KY to Willard Arthur and Fleetie Mabel Oney on September 9, 1929. She was the fourth of nine children and had a strong love of family her entire life. She was introduced to Paul Remer Linkhart from New Vienna, Ohio through family and they were married on December 20, 1946. They raised three children on the Linkhart family farm on Bernard Road where the family still lives today. C.J. was a homemaker, farmer and a great cook. She developed a love for art and began painting in the 1950s. Over the years she painted scenes from many of her travels and afternoons spent with family. She taught art and encouraged others to love it also in her galleries in both New Vienna, OH and Silver City, NM. She was preceded in death by her first husband Paul Linkhart and later by her husband David Carolus whom she married in Las Vegas on March 7, 1992. She is survived by her sons Greg (Kathy) Linkhart, Brian (Debbie) Linkhart and her daughter Crystal Barker, all of New Vienna. She is also survived by grand children Tennille (Cullen) Istre, Ashley (Shane) Creek, Paul (Kim) Barker, Heather Linkhart and Jessica Linkhart. She is also survived by her beloved great grandchildren, Chloe, Lincoln, Cole, Jackson, Isabel, Aiyana, Stella, Delaney, Landry, Molly and Olivia. Services will be held Wednesday, December 28 with visitation from 11am and services starting at 1:00 PM.
