Charles W. Hendricks

Charles W. Hendricks, age 92, of Milledgeville, passed at home on Friday, October 21, 2022.

Born in Octa on May 20, 1930, he was the son of the late Virgil and Bertha E. Hyer Hendricks.

Charles was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley Kelly Hendricks, who passed on August 13, 2020.  At the time of her passing, the two had been united in marriage for 65 years.

Charles was a Veteran of the United States Army.  He served our country during the Korean War.  He later worked for National Cash Register and as a Corrections Officer at the London Correctional Institute..  In his younger years, Charles was a great baseball player; he pitched for various farm teams.  He was fond of sweets and loved flowers and to garden.  Charles was devoted to reading the Bible and enjoyed Christian television.

Charles is survived by his children: Cindy (Jon) Cox of Jeffersonville and Dr. Michael (Jeannette) Hendricks of Clarksville.  Also left to cherish his memory are grandchildren: Alicia (Nate) Dill and Shayne Hendricks; and great-grandchildren: Roman, Macklin and Jovie.

In addition to his wife, Charles was preceded in death by siblings: Hazel, Donald, Raymond, Edward, Delbert, Alice and Gladys, along with half-brother, Franklin Johnson.

Family will receive friends at Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, from 12Noon until the time of the funeral service at 1:30pm.  Burial to follow at Milledgeville-Plymouth Cemetery.
