Charles L. Funk, age 73, passed at Bethesda North Hospital on Saturday, October 29, 2016.
Born in Cincinnati on July 4, 1943, Charles was the son of George and Dorothy (Tucker) Funk.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice (Pinion) Funk.
At a young age, Charles joined the United States Army and served in Vietnam. He was a carpenter and a handyman. He enjoyed the outdoors as an avid hunter, fisherman, and trapper.
Charles is survived by his children: Dennis (Susie) Funk of Wilmington, Vicki (Edward) McGaugh of Alabama, Richard (Barbara) Funk in New Vienna, Jimmy (Kim) Funk of Idaho, and Geoffrey Funk of Wilmington. Also left to cherish his memory are grandchildren: Kylee, Jeffrey, and Miranda Funk, Jason McGaugh, Kevin Funk, Anthony and Alton Funk, and Beatrice and Jeffrey Funk; step-grandchildren, Kristen Benitz and Stephenie Ison; great-grandchildren, Audrey, Gracie, Benjamin, Genevieve, Grayson, Adriana, Aidan and Alexa. Charles also leaves behind siblings: Dorothy Lansing, Ramona Stump, Pam Earley, Elmer Funk and Wayne Funk; along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition, Charles in preceded in death by two brothers, Michael and George Funk.
Family will receive friends at Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, on Friday, November 4, 2016, from 11-12 Noon, when a funeral service will begin. Burial will follow at Sabina Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the funeral home to help with Charles’ final expenses.
